Trying to understand the use cases for block grids and block lists

Hi all, I've got a data model like this: - userId: string - timesheet entries: blocklist - - block 1: timesheet - - - activity: * custom I need to access the property value inside the "userId" field from the "activity" custom editor that's inside the block list. Can someone give me guidance as to how to get it?

Getting error in live solution hosted in azure recently. SAVE is not working in the backoffice. 20000+ errors are logged. One or more errors occurred. (Exceptions were thrown by listed actions. Every so often our website that is on Umbraco Cloud suddenly shows the azurewebsites.net URL on our dynamic URLs. Then after a memory cache reset the URLs revert back to the correct URL. We do transfer content from Staging to Live. What is causing this and is there a fix in 8?

In Umbraco 14 are Umbraco keeping Block Grid?

Hello! I'm currently developing a custom property editor that includes a function requiring fetching data from another custom property editor. Both of these editors are located within the same tab. In my previous work, I've used eventsService (onsave) for communication between custom property editors within the same document type, and Backoffice API Controllers for those in different document types. In this case, I want to get the value from the other Custom Property Editor immediately upon the controller loading. What is the most efficient method for fetching data from a custom property editor located within the same tab? Specifically, I'm interested in retrieving the $scope.model.value of the other property editor. Any insights or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Hey everyone! I'm currently wondering whether there is a better way to organize the dictionary. Currently i always have to rewrite the same name again if i want to directly tag it in the code. What i mean by this is would it be possible to do it like this: Blocks => Jobs => MostRead and **not **like this: Blocks => Blocks.Jobs => Blocks.Jobs.MostRead. The reason i'm asking is because in the backoffice if there are two MostRead with the same name what happens? Would i still be able to do it in a way like this?

We are finding Umbraco 12 to be very slow throughout. While monitoring its memory usage, when /umbraco is hit, the site will jump from < 80,000 kb of usage to upwards of 500k, and even pushing 800k. Is this abnormal? Has anyone experienced this and found a fix or should we be expecting this?

We've recently upgraded to .NET Core and Umbraco 12.3.3. With that, we've had SimpleRedirects and InboundLinkErrors working together. I've noticed that there doesn't seem to be an updated NUGET for connecting SimpleRedirects and InboundLinkErrors, and therefore, InboundLinkErrors sets redirects using the "Redirect URL Manager" by default. That is great and all, but it seems that the Redirect URL Management system isn't working. I see the redirects added to it, but it goes to a 404 error and isn't redirecting. Any ideas? Is there something I need to do in 12.3.3 appsetttings.json to enable it?

Hello all, We use IAppPolicyCache for caching certain content, and in this instance are load balancing 2 servers. An issue that we are noticing is that if we clear an IAppPolicyCache entry on one server, it doesn't occur on the other server. What is the best way to send a signal to clear the cache on all sites? In our umbraco 8 site when we paste from Word it seemed to automatically remove the Word markup tags and keep the normal styles such as Bold, Italic etc. In 12 this doesnt seem to be the case. If we use Clear Formatting it removes the Bold, Italic styles too. Any ideas if there is a setting in 12 that we can implement that will allow us to paste direct from Word to the RTE keeping the normal styles and removing the Word mark up automatically?

So, i just installed forms on 12.3.3. Works fine on localhost but fails on live. Ive googled and think it has something to do with "smidge". which fixes the warning, however my code for

new ContentValueSetValidator(arguments)

still requires the scopeProvider from

Core.Scoping

. Is this fixable, or can this only be solved when upgrading to v14 as no separate constructor seems to exists?

How can I translate the Drop Down list values? in thew CMS, I have multi language so for each user I want him see the values by the language that he have.

Since there is a bug in anything after 12.2.0 that prevents me from running Umbraco in my hosting platform and it currently does not look like it is being worked on to be fix how do I get the 12.2.0 version to do a fresh install? In VS when I do new project I only have the option for 12.3.3

Hello everyone, I am currently working on a project in Umbraco where I have multiple main pages. I am trying to optimize my website for SEO and would like each main page to have its own unique title and description. At the moment, every page is using the title from Master.cshtml as it is set as the layout for all pages. However, I would like to customize this so that each page has its own unique title and description. Could anyone provide guidance on how to best approach this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have a "contact" document type that have properties title, address, zip, city, country.,.. index.searcher.CreateQuery(IndexTypes.Content).GroupedOr(new[] { "__NodeTypeAlias" }, new[] { "contact" }) .And().Field("country", "NO"); The country field is not getting added to the query. But when adding field "zip", "city", "title" to the query, it is working. Is "country" any special word. I have a document type "country". Is that an issue. Please help.

I'm trying to configure the RTE's in an Umbraco 12 installation to only allow specific HTML elements - specifically the ones we are able to insert when formatting the rich text through the editor. Our goal is to remove any other tags and attributes that might be included when editors paste text from somewhere else. I'm trying to use the Umbraco:CMS:RichTextEditor:ValidElements configuration as is documented a bit in these two links: https://docs.umbraco.com/umbraco-cms/fundamentals/backoffice/property-editors/built-in-umbraco-property-editors/rich-text-editor/configuration#allowing-script-tags-in-the-rte https://docs.umbraco.com/umbraco-cms/reference/configuration/richtexteditorsettings Specifically I'm trying to set this string as the configuration: "@[style|data-mce-style],+a[!href|title|data-anchor|data-mce-href|data-mce-selected],h2,h3,p,strong/b,em/i/italic,ul,ol,li". This has been built using Tiny's own MCE documentation: https://www.tiny.cloud/docs/tinymce/6/content-filtering/#valid_elements. The configuration doesn't do anything discernible , though. When I paste e.g. some div's into an RTE and then save or publish, the div's aren't removed, and I'm not being told that I'm doing something illegal. I am able to succesfully configure plugins that the RTE uses, but I also couldn't get the InvalidElements configuration to do anything. From the (very sparse) documentation there is on how Umbraco handles these configuration, I'd expect that the RTE would remove the non-valid tags and attributes when I save. Am I missing something about how this is supposed to be used? Or is there maybe some problem in how I set it up or how Umbraco uses it? Thanks in advance, good people!

Our client has many content pages directly below home. The content gets difficult to manage. They would like the ability to create a folder or somehow group the content together to keep the content tree clean. I found Virtual Nodes for Umbraco 8. However, we run on Umbraco 10. The marketplace doesn't seem to have anything either when I search for "folder" or "virtual". So, is there anything out there that I can use or a code snippet I can implement? It is essential that the pages keep the same URL as it already has.

Using Forms we have to add our own Styles to it. As in 12 the front end mark up on the controls are no longer available we have to concentrate more in inspecting the Markup and adding classes into our styles css file. Will Umbraco change these existing classes or is there a better way to manage to the styles?
