Been running to the same issue, looks like a fix is going to be in the next release for v8 https://github.com/umbraco/Umbraco-CMS/pull/15638

Anyone know if there will be an issue installing the pre-release with this fix via NuGet if the DTGE was originally installed as an Umbraco package? (doesn't look like the pre-release is avaliable via Umbraco)
