09/18/2026, 3:45 PMI feel like I'm going insane. I must be doing something wrong but is the Umbraco installer broken?
If I create a new folder and install an Umbraco project... which tbf I do VERY infrequently..
dotnet new -i Umbraco.Templates::17.7.0 --force
# Create solution/project
dotnet new sln --name "MySolution"
dotnet new umbraco --force -n "MyProject"
dotnet sln add "MyProject"
dotnet run --project "MyProject"
Then go through the installer - enter my email address, add a password, set SQL Server, point it at a blank db... it all installs. Then I get the login screen. Password not recognised. Every time.
It must be something I'm doing... can anyone confirm before I raise a bug and feel very silly. This has the same output for me via VS Code with v17 or v18...

09/18/2026, 3:47 PMFirst and second time I assumed I'd ham fisted the password. Then I copied and pasted it carefully.. same.
I've had to add SMTP and use the forgotten password twice now.

Going to do it again ... carefully with 17.7.0 then raise a bug
