They've done well in EUrope and been the spine of the german team for a while .. so it makes sense.. but I 'd love to get the sense of atmoshpere on a game day.. same i want to go see Camp Nou, Santiago Bernabeu, maracana , and to a lesser degree the mexico city stadium

It was annoying that my flight was on the day that Bayern were playing at home, where they got presented with the league trophy. I spoke to some locals and they told me it's generally pretty hard getting tickets. While I was there, I learnt the der klassiker was on but I couldn't get hold of tickets, despite all attempts.

all of those are usually games you have to plan a good bit in advance.. I've tried to do that numerous yankee games when i have been in the states but timing of games and stuff just doesn't work..

Timing is the hardest bit, so I'm going to go back, specifically to go to the football. Trying to do that and other tourist stuff, just doesn't map nicely.

yeah you have specifically plan it.. and work the tourism around it.. though it works out easier if you do it as a specifically football trip..
