I have a conundrum... My department at work is restructuring (I'll still be the only developer), and I've been told the only scope for career progression is to move into management, which I have no interest in, particularly as it wouldn't be a technical position. That also means there is no scope for salary increases as I'm at the top of my pay band. The work is relatively straightforward, usually without time pressures or deadlines, however the lack of challenges and technically inclined colleagues is starting to get me down. If you were me, what would you do?
