Question: I am no frontend designer, but is there a good resource of HTML templates that are built well. That anyone can recommend for me to use for some upcoming demos, otherwise they gonna be damn UGLY if I do them.
Ideally not HTML5up.net (Seen those styles to death IMO) ๐Ÿ™ˆ
s
lol I was going to suggest just that.. ๐Ÿ˜…
w
hahaha just feel super dated designs stuck in the past a bit, but maybe thats just me ?!
s
yeah you're right, they're all a bit "meh" now.. funny how quick that goes!
m
Paul's clean starter kit ? No idea what he used thou cc @CodeSharePaul
c
I think Warren is talking about static themes to use to build an umbraco site and make dynamic, right?
w
Yep exactly that @User - Static HTML Templates to turn into an Umbraco site
c
I love doing that, i find it theraputic
w
OK thanks Paul - yeh a little more modern & its been a while so be good practise to see DX (Developer Experience) pain points
m
It's static if you inspect the page :D
c
I also use Bootstrap Studio to build my own static site and then build it using that
w
That's how I first learnt @User in the GeoCities & MySpace era ๐Ÿ˜›
m
Still how I do a few things ๐Ÿ˜‚
c
And if you want to use tailwind, there is another tool you can use https://updrafts.app/
w
Does it still have an animated gif of a workman digging up for under construction @User ?
m
The UmbLeeds axe throwing image was me in console of the venue's homepage
w
Keep the recommendations coming Paul
c
Here is a simple tailwind page i just knocked up using updrafts https://updrafts.app/preview/warren-test-f8jox/home
c
Here's another Tailwind tool I came across last week, with some pretty nice looking components! https://devdojo.com/tails/app
d
Sorry I mentioned this outside the thread but I think the designs are very nice and it's really easy to use: https://tailwindui.com/
Think Bootstrap for Tailwind
s
Run through the wordpress theme repository. They have a preview function, where you can scrape the html ๐Ÿ™‚
w
There is some nice ones from Ghost that are open source & MIT but kinda feels weird to use a competitor markup
