I have children Aaron and I can't always go to London ones. Sometimes I have to prep/plan in advance but I can make it work with childcare. If I want to goto a meetup (Umbraco or .NET) I just have to make the home logistics work & yes for some of us thats harder than others, but thats how life is. If I want to go enough, I will make it work
