Yeah, I would probaly go with v9 if I needed to make a site now. But isn't it better for new users to start with v8 for now because there is a lot more documentation and support tickets answered than v9 stuff at this time? I atleast feel like there is a lot more "figure it out yourself" stuff with the v9 compared with the v8 version at this point..
