does sound like there are other files still about - Only issue i have seen with SignalR is that the hub doesn't initialize on the v first boot after Umbraco is installed. So when Umbraco restarts itself as part of the install, it doesn't seem to trigger the signalR route) - but any hard restart after startup fixes that.
