Hangfire needs to know what database to use at boot time and not all databases that Umbraco supports are supported by Hangfire. After an install, there's no restart like there used to be so once the DB is configured the only way to make Hangfire work is to stop/start the app again and somehow tell Hangfire what DB to use.
