To try to keep media folders tidy I've set start nodes for different block's media pickers. Client has asked for more flexibility - so for it to default to the start node but allow them to choose any folder. I thought that if I set the start node but also checked "Ignore User Start Nodes" - then it would do this. I can't get this to work - am I completely wrong on the intended functionality or is this just a bug? Can't believe I've gone this many years without knowing what this field is for otherwise

Hi, I'm about to embark on an upgrade (/migration) of a relatively large v7.3.1 site to latest v13. The site uses doc type grid editor amongst other things, which I'd like to convert to grid. There's probably going to be a lot of wrangling along the way but I believe these are the main steps: 1. Upgrade site to latest v7 (so that 'uSync migrations packer' can be installed). Is this definitely necessary and should there be any intermediary v7 upgrade versions or should 7.3.1 - 7.15.11 work? 2. Install uSync 3. Install uSync.Migration.Packer for v7 4. Run usync/packer export? 5. Create brand new v13 project 6. Install uSync and uSync migrations on v13 project 7. Run migration and if successful do a uSync import 8. Deal with any legacy packages etc 9. Convert all template/C# stuff to new versions Is this vaguely right? Any gotchas to look out for? What about content/media?

More of a general inquiry - We've had a client recently have a number of Umbraco forms email workflows change due to a security policy change on their SMTP and the error wasn't caught for a couple of days. Part of the triage is figuring out what can be done to spot / prevent this in future and one of the thoughts was by having some sort of Fallback SMTP configuration in place. Was just wondering if this was possible in the default installation of Umbraco 13 + Umbraco Forms package, or would something custom need to be whipped up?

Evening folks, is there any guidance on how to re-use existing property editors in dashboards/modals? I'm trying to re-use the Content Picker in a modal that is triggered by a custom action item. This is to allow editors to pick a node. I can't find any guidannce or examples that make sense to me so far. I've tried looking into what the import statement should be e.g.

import {UmbPropertyEditorUIContentPickerElement} from "@umbraco-cms/backoffice/property-editor/"

but I'm not sure what that path should look like. I've also tried adding

<umb-property-editor-ui-content-picker>

into the UI, but don't see anything or know how it should be configured. Does anyone have any pointers?

Hi I'm using Umbraco 13. Is there anyway to highlight to users if the page they're editing has been updated by another user when they attempt to save and publish that page? Thanks in advance

I'm looking to open a content picker window in Umbraco 14, but can't quite find out how to do this. It should simply show the content tree, just like the content picker property editor. I want the user to pick a content page from the content section. Has anyone already done this before and can give me a pointer?

Hi, Hoping someone might be able to point me in the right direction. Just started looking at the delivery api and was wondering if it would be possible to have dynamic indexing of properties and also have dynamic filtering? Use case is that I want to be able to filter on document type props without having to update the code every time a new filter type is added. Mostly because I may not be maintaining it long term. I think I gotten halfway there by matching on a regex pattern in the query e.g. @"tag_(.+?):(.+)" == tag_myProp:propValue This can be used in the CanHandle method as well as the BuildFilterOption. The other part though is the indexing, but that needs to be fairly specific when creating IndexFieldValue and IndexFile in the GetFieldValues and GetFields methods. I was hoping to have somewhere to define what props should be indexed in a place that doesn't require a deployment (perhaps a top level node?), which might be possible in the GetFieldValues method because there is a IContent parameter returned in the method call, but GetFields doesn't return any parameters. I think I might be barking up the wrong tree and trying to fit a square peg into a round hole, but I feel that I am close to getting something functional, and am struggling with best practice. Just looking for some advice from others who have successfully used the content delivery api. Just as a note, I don't think there will be a huge amount of nodes to search, so maybe using the content delivery api is overkill? I am perhaps thinking of something more akin to graphql? Thanks.

Hi everyone, I am having an issue in Umbraco v8 where the name of a media item contains special Icelandic letters like í and ó. Now when I go into the media section and open the url there is works fine. The Url contains the special letters and can be opened. Example of a relative url I receive from the media section: media/fewfp31e/gabríel But if I have the image as an IpublishedContent and fetch the Url from there, the Url I receive is something like this: /media/fewfp31e/gabríel Anyone know of a way to fetch the Url correctly?
