I know that content apps can be added to content, media, members, and doctypes, but I have a particular situation where it would be very handy to have one in the backoffice in a Member Group. Is that possible?

Nope. 🙂 Only works with things that have a content type and Member Groups are "just" strings.
I would say it should be fairly easy to make a dashboard for the members section to manage roles and add meta info that you need on each role.

Yeah, I've been digging around on the internet and migrating more and more towards that conclusion. I think it's the direction I need to go 🙂
I have a client who has a custom table with some specific properties they assign to their member groups, which is why I was looking for a solution like this!

Sounds like a job for Konstrukt maybe

What you could do as well, but it won't be UI powered, is use the relations API to link a node to a member group.. or something. But a bit weird, properties should go on the member instead of the role.

I would love to use Konstrukt but they're still on v8 so Fluidity would have to do 🤣
