@Bishal Tim did you create the template in the correct location? Have you restarted the application?

@JigitalCharlie Hi, heres what i did: i created a folder: Page Base, then inside that i created a document type: strange it was not showing document type with template it just asked for a documtn type, then i creatd a document type "alias: homePage" , then i checked the template as always, strange it wasn't showing , then i tried reloading and restarting , nope no progress

Hi @Bishal Tim are you just starting out? It could be v14. But feels like the installation is incorrect some how? As you say, the errots and now doc type with template option

That document is for 13 (the current stable release) If your trying to install the beta of 14 to play around in or test out follow https://docs.umbraco.com/umbraco-cms/v/14.latest-beta/fundamentals/setup/install/preview-builds#installing-the-preview-build-template Keep in mind, 14 is in beta right now and not meant for production usage.
