uSync Vs Umbraco deploy
# help-with-umbraco

Hi all We're looking into a deployment solution for Umbraco, Umbraco Commerce to Azure. Both of these products seem to come across as being compatible.... Umbraco deploy seems very expensive but uSync seems to do the same but at a cheaper price. Does anyone have experience with these products and any disadvantages before we could make a decision?
k
We use uSync since at least v8 for automatic dev-test-prod environment propagation of everything but content ("settings", in uSync-speak) and it does the job perfectly without room for improvements. We have considered but never tried Umbraco Deploy. I think the scope & details of your deployment needs (content? media? to Azure Storage? etc) will impact the answers.

Most of it would be the skeleton bones for the content but everything else would need to be transferred to the dev/production site. For the Commerce part it would be everything including the products which are added to the commerce areas and any other settings. My only concern whilst I've been looking around is uSync doesn't have Commerce support. Not sure if you would like more info?
k
There is a commerce add on package for uSync https://www.nuget.org/packages/uSync.Umbraco.Commerce/13.1.0-rc1 (no idea why it doesn't come up on search more)

This is in RC stage. Does anyone know when an official release is scheduled? I'm not sure if this is production ready? Be great to hear if you've had any experience using it?
k
in general its considered to work, its only an RC because we just haven't had time (yet) to do our full pre-release tests

I have used both uSync and Deploy. I personally prefer uSync as it seems to be more full featured and allow for more options of syncing and deploying. I also find Kevin a very good help when I had questions. I can't speak to Umbraco on there support of deploy as I have not interacted with them on Deploy.

I'm using usync, and if production is released we disable content usync sync and only do it for doc types, data types....
