There's an open source package that I need thats called Date Folders but its supported until v13 only supposedly. I tried it on v14 but there was an error that came out. Can someone provide me with what steps i should take if i want to upgrade the package?

hi @karmentena, First I would reach out to the package developer if there are plans to release a version for v14. You could also ask him for guidelines on how to make a pull request so you can do it your self

Okay! Thanks <3

hello hello, I am summoned πŸ˜…

On a related note, I completely forgot this package existed, how wonderful! Popping it in a project now.

☝️ this makes me happy
So uhm yeah, totally agree, this package should also support U14. I see a feature request has been recently submitted on the github. I have forwarded this to the rest of my team, so I hope to hear more soon
The team agrees that we should upgrade the package to Umbraco 14. We plan to try a naΓ―ve upgrade first. That is: we're just going to upgrade the package dependencies, fix the build errors and see how well it works. This will probably happen somewhere in the next 2 weeks.

Omg thank you so much!! This is such great news
Is there any way to keep up with news about this!
b
@karmentena I just took a quick look, got a v14 version up and running but still facing some issues. @D_Inventor or I will let you know when we've fixed it, shouldn't be all that difficult
d
Well, we will try to send the occasional update here, but if anything significant happens, it is likely to be shared in the related issue on github here: https://github.com/Infocaster/Datefolders/issues/8 You can subscribe to that issue (I think) to get notifications if anything happens to it

Just release a beta version of the DateFolders package. We've tested it locally while developing but I must admit that we've upgraded it in a bit of a rush, hence the beta version. The functionality hasn't changed so everything should work just as well as it used to. Would be awesome though if you could provide us with some feedback if not everything is running perfectly @karmentena
k
Okay! Thank you so much. When i finish my work today I will test it out and let you know
b
@karmentena were you able to test it?
k
Oh, I’m so sorry! I thought I had sent an update here and not just to my boss πŸ˜…πŸ˜…πŸ˜… But yes, I was able to test it! It went really well and it's working just as we wanted. This was a simple test I had initially started in a separate repo, but we're now integrating it into a larger project, and so far, there have been no issues! Thank you so much, and I apologize for not updating you sooner. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1265568074531209280/1269996220852474019/354614480-90522e81-d7f8-40d2-912d-0cee9469b5af.png?ex=66b217a6&is=66b0c626&hm=0343807f7f6f028b5f0295b1618de8ed23f9f55bd7403820aac485c57491ba4c&

This is good to see!
b
No problem! Thank you for testing it out. Good to know that it's all working correctly
