I work as a teacher and will possibly hold a lesson about Umbraco. Can you use Umbraco for free without trial? I work with a frontend developer so must be able to use both backend and frontend I think.
s
Yes, Umbraco is open source and free to use without a trial. You can download the CMS and use it to build websites for free. However, if you need additional features such as Umbraco cloud hosting or support, these services come with paid plans.

You'd need to be able to install an run it locally. Or things get more complicated deploying to a host like Azure. When you say lesson - are you expecting the students to install their own and do exercises? Absolutely no reason you can't do all this - but would involve a bit of IIS setup or use of installing the template into Visual Studio (/Code)
n
Yes, I think the students are supposed to install their own. Can you use both Visual Studio and Visual Studio Code?
n
Thank you very much to both of you!

I'd also reccomend https://psw.codeshare.co.uk/ if you want setup to be as quick as possible
k
Hey, if you give the students a hassle-free setup experience, they will learn nothing
j
That's a fair point

Can I also plug my free single line of code installation starter kit https://umbootstrap.com/
