1-click Create Content Node

On our editors top-5 missing features in Umbraco is a kind of 1-click create content node - if there is only 1 and only 1 allowed document type on the node they want to add a sub node on. I have created a discussion (my first) on GitHub. Would like to hear others input on such a feature request. https://github.com/umbraco/Umbraco-CMS/discussions/18097

In my - I think - 15 years working with Umbraco, I have never heard this request before tbh. But I like the idea with some changes. I've reacted on your discussion 🙂

In my 16 years with Umbraco 😉 I not heard it aswell until now. Our new document types and the new backoffice with side panels, has made our editors aware of this extra click/mouse-movements. In the old backoffice, the click on "..." in the node tree opened a panel right beside your mouse. So very quickly and with very little movement you could create a new node.

You know that in Umbraco 13 you can right-click a node to go immediately to the insert options. In 14 this unfortunately does not exist anymore, but when you have over the node, you actually get two icons: one for inserting and the other for the 'rest' of the menu options.

Yes, but the choice of document type is still in the panel on the other side of the browser. The wish from the editors is to reduce repeatable work over and over again. It is okay, when you only create a new page once a day. But are you creating a lot during a day - that's a lot of click and mouse handling.
A work-around until this awesome feature is implemented. Could be adding a custom button "New Page" along side "Save & Publish".
