I have 4500 media files on disk (excluding empty folders) and only 3200 media items in registered in umbraco. I think this happens when files are removed/replaced rather than actually deleting the media item. Years ago there was a package (was it media cleaner?) that helped you clean out orphaned files on disk. Has anyone found a modern equivalent?
